Bio: Pamela Eyring is the President and Director of The Protocol School of Washington®, the leader in protocol and etiquette services. Armed with more than two decades of operational protocol and educational development, Ms. Eyring brings in-depth knowledge and skill to the protocol and etiquette industry. Formerly the Chief of Protocol at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, Ohio, she planned and directed military, government, international and civic ceremonies, conferences, special events and Presidential visits. She was also the Executive Development Program Manager for the Education and Training Branch of Headquarters Personnel. Ms. Eyring has presented seminars and briefings to corporate and government executives, Fortune 500 companies, academia and numerous government and industry organizations. She is a Washington Business Journal columnist with a monthly advice column titled Biz Etiquette. Ms. Eyring blends a professional and direct approach with her topics and presents them in an interactive and entertaining format. She has been featured in national publications such as The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Real Simple magazine, and the American Society of Training and Development's T&D Magazine. Bio: Diane Ewing joined Premier Health Partners as Vice President of Marketing and Communications in the fall of 2008. Ewing joined the organization from Rochester General Health System in Rochester, New York, where she served as Vice President, Marketing and Public Relations. Previously, Ewing served as vice president of Community Services for Finger Lakes Health in Geneva, New York, and as director of Community Relations for Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis. Ewing’s academic experience includes a bachelor’s degree in English from Maryville University and graduate studies at Washington University, both in St. Louis. As a volunteer, Ewing has served on numerous not-for-profit boards. Here in Dayton, she serves on the boards of the Downtown Dayton Partnership, Think-TV, and the Blue Star Mothers. She completed the Leadership Dayton program as a member of the Class of 2010.

Marsha Bonhart - The Picture at the Top of the Mountain

Description: This presentation will focus on the impressions that can develop as you strive to reach your career destination.
Bio: Marsha is an anchor/reporter at WDTN Channel 2. She currently anchors "2News At Noon", "2News at 5:30 and 6" and is the Health Reporter. Prior to coming to Channel 2 in March of 1988, Bonhart was with Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton, where she served as Media Coordinator. Prior to that, she held positions at KTTV, Los Angeles, WKEF-TV, Dayton, WDHO-TV, Toledo, and WMHE-FM Radio, Toledo. Marsha has won numerous awards not only for her work but also for her community involvement. She received a News Emmy Nomination for her series on "Crack Addicted Babies." In both 1993 and 2004, she won the Ohio Public Images Award for producing stories that create greater understanding and acceptance of people with developmental disabilities.
Marsha also holds the YWCA Award for Personal Achievement and Community Involvement. In 1999, Bonhart received the "304" Award from Big Brothers/Big Sisters. In 2000, she received the "Top 15 Friends" award from Artemis Center for Alternatives to Domestic Violence and in 2003 she was selected as Dayton Daily News Top Ten Women. She has also been selected as an Outstanding Young Woman of America, and The Dayton Chapter of American Women in Radio and Television chose her as Newswoman of the Year. Marsha is a member of the Greater Dayton Association of Black Journalists and the Dayton Broadcasters Hall of Fame

Bio: Sifu Jeremy Roadruck, a former enlisted member of the United States Army Reserve (USAR) and member of the National Association of Professional Martial Artists (NAPMA), has been involved with the martial arts for over 15 years, 13 of those years training close to seven days a week. He is now a full-time instructor with his own school in Centerville, Ohio under the guidance of Master Benny Meng (Meng's Martial Arts) and Master Stephen Oliver (Mile High Karate).
His biggest passion is to help his students develop new ways of seeing the world around themselves, giving them the tools to live the life they want, instead of the life they think they are given. He has a special talent for breaking complex topics and situations down into simple building blocks, giving students and workshop participants a way to weave many threads together to gain understanding quickly and simply. In a word, Sifu Jeremy is a catalyst, helping others to 'connect the dots' and help them discover that the answers to their questions were already within their own experience. He has a special affinity for working with children and the young at heart, sharing his enthusiasm with families in developing success skills and leadership.

Bio: Dr. Linda Gravett, an industrial psychologist, is a business advisor, author and professor who has partnered with private and public sector organizations over the past 20 years, helping them leverage the talents of a diverse workforce to ensure success through periods of growth and change. She is founder and senior partner of Gravett and Associates, an international Organizational Development consulting firm headquartered in Cincinnati, and President and CEO of Just the Basics, Inc., a Northern Kentucky HR consulting firm that works with small companies and nonprofits. Linda is the author or co-author of books on Emotional Intelligence, generational differences, leadership, and business ethics. Her next book, scheduled for September 2010 release, is about starting and sustaining a successful consulting firm. Linda is on the faculty of the Executive MBA Program and Leadership Academy at Xavier University, and she is the Director of their Senior HR Management Certificate Program.
Linda has a Ph.D. in Industrial Psychology, an MA in Labor and Employment Relations, and a Bachelor’s in Accounting. She is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and certified Coach and Consultant in EQ (CEQC).
Her primary areas of expertise include talent development and leveraging the skills and abilities of a diverse workforce.

Bio: Teresa Zumwald is a communications consultant, project manager, copywriter, speechwriter and author with 25 years of professional experience. She is owner and president of Zumwald & Company, which provides strategy, internal and external communications, and speechwriting services to organizations ranging from large corporations to small businesses. Specialties include corporate communication, customer communication, employee/member communication, marketing communications, media relations/public relations and publications. Her work has been published in more than 35 magazines, journals and corporate publications, both internal and external, and she is the author of three corporate history books. Before creating Zumwald & Company in 1989, Teresa was a communications specialist for Geographic Information Services at Woolpert, a national design, engineering and geospatial firm. Teresa holds a B.A. in journalism from The Ohio State University in Columbus and a capstone minor in marketing.

Bio: Toni supports several of the AT&T Ohio business units. She also manages the philanthropy, media relations and stakeholder relationships with the federal and state legislators, city officials, economic development organizations, chambers and non-profits in ten counties. Toni has a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Wilberforce University, a M.S. degree in Community Economic Development from Southern New Hampshire University, certification as an Economic Development Professional (NDC) and a certificate in Corporate Community Relations from Boston College. Toni is a member of several boards and committees. Toni has received the SCOMBC Chairman’s Award, the Dayton Chamber of Commerce Volunteer Award, the Ohio Hispanic Chamber Corporate Business Advocate Award and the Dayton Business Journal 40 Under 40 Award, the 2010 YWCA Women of Influence award, 2008 AACEO Top Ten Women award and the 2007 Top Ten Women award from Dayton Daily News. Volunteering is an important part of Carrie's life. She is currently a trustee on the Board of Directors for Learning Tree Farm and a proud member of the Kettering Noon Optimist Club. Carrie lives in Centerville with her husband Dudley and 15 year-old son Austin. Her favorite activities include hiking, camping, knitting, golfing and trying a new wine.

Angela Addington – Cause Marketing: Doing Well While Doing Good

Bio: Angela Addington has a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing with an emphasis on research. Since 1991, she has worked in the telecommunications industry as a systems analyst. She left the corporate world to start her own business as a professional photographer in 1994, with such clients as the College Football Hall of Fame and Notre Dame University. In 2000, she had her daughter Hannah, for whom the charity is named. Feeling the need for financial security with a new baby, Angela returned to the corporate world by taking a data technician position at LexisNexis through Manpower. Angela left after a short period of time to develop Hannah’s Treasure Chest full-time as the need for the services of the organization grew and became too difficult to handle while working full time. In 2008 Angela was recognized for her work at Hannah's Treasure Chest by being named one of Dayton Daily New's Top Ten Women.

Maha Kashani is a Sr. Account Manager at Cincinnati Bell and has been with the company for 5 years. In her position, Maha provides telecommunication & technology solutions to help Dayton area organizations increase efficiencies, boost productivity and leverage technology to cost effectively meet growing infrastructure demands. She is a University of Dayton Class of 2005 Flyer and a Leadership Dayton Class of 2010 graduate. Maha is an energetic, passionate and outgoing young professional.
She takes on many different leadership roles and has a very active interest in helping to transform the Dayton Region. Recently, she has started writing a monthly column for the Dayton City Paper titled “Miss Maha and the City” highlighting Dayton’s assets, “best bets” for things to do and recommendations for ways to become more involved in our community.
Maha is a strong believer that volunteering and being active in our community is everyone’s civic duty. Her community involvement includes – Steering Committee and Employer Relations Chair for Generation Dayton, Better Business Bureau’s Board of Business and Consumer Ethics, Board of Trustees for the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, Technology First Magazine Committee & guest columnist, Dayton Racquet Club "Emerging Executives", Dayton Ballet Barre and the Centerville Noon Optimist Club. Shanon Potts is an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Dayton, Ohio, admitted to practice in Ohio in 2005. Her practice areas of focus are municipal litigation, claims defense and liquor law. Shanon graduated from Otterbein College, magna cum laude, where she studied Communication, Business, and Political Science. She attended Capital University Law School, where she competed as a member of the Philip J. Fulton National Moot Court Team and served as a staff member of the Capital University Law Review. She graduated from law school, cum laude, in 2005. Shanon is a 2009 recipient of the Dayton Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Award, a 2008 graduate of the City of Dayton’s Neighborhood Leadership Institute, and a 2008 Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce-Volunteer of the Quarter. She is the 2010 Chair of Generation Dayton, an active member of Grace United Methodist Church, and a member of the Dayton, Ohio and American Bar Associations. Cheryl Malone is the Indiana Wesleyan University Regional Director of Market Development for the Adult Education Services department. She is responsible for marketing Indiana Wesleyan University’s on-site and on-line programs in new community markets and with associations. Cheryl has vast leadership and human resource experience as a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force. She served at a variety of stateside and overseas bases as well as the Pentagon. Her home town is Southport, North Carolina; she has been with Indiana Wesleyan University for 3 years. She has a masters in counseling and has received the Meritorious and Commendation Medals along with various leadership awards. Her Squadron in Miswa Air Force Base was selected as best Mission Support Squadron” in Pacific Air Forces for two consecutive years. Cheryl considers the best job in the Air Force for her was being a Squadron Commander. She is married to Victor Malone and they have two children, Meghan and Sean. After retiring in 2006, she has made Centerville, Ohio her home.

Barbara Johnson - Panelist

Barbara Johnson has served as vice president of operations at Miami Valley Hospital since 2003, having overall responsibility for the operation and ongoing development of seven hospital areas including cardiology services, the Educational Resource Center, facilities operations, volunteer services, campus security and safety, environmental services and disaster preparedness. Barbara is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), American Hospital Association (AHA), Ohio Hospital Association (OHA), National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE), the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), and the American Society for Health Care Human Resources Administration (ASHHRA).
She also serves on the American Humanics Community Council for Wright State University. Barbara is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University and is pursuing a Master's in Business Administration. Barbara is an active community volunteer. In addition to being a avid supporter of the performing arts, she is involved with many philanthropic efforts in the Dayton community including the Miami Valley Hospital Mueller Society, Good Samaritan Health Foundation, The American Cancer Society, The American Heart Association and Habitat for Humanity. Barbara is a numismatist (serious coin collector) and a rated bridge player. |

Nancy Roberson - Panelist

Nancy is an Attorney and Counselor at law and has focused her practice on estate planning and probate law for over 20 years. She received her B.A. in English from the Indiana University in 1971 and her J.D. degree from the University of Dayton School of Law in 1981, where she was a member of the Editorial Board for the University of Dayton Law Review. Nancy is a member of the American Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, the Dayton Bar Association, and the Christian Legal Society. Nancy has served as Chairperson of the Dayton Bar Association's Estate Planning, Probate, and Trust Law Committee and President of the Dayton Trust and Estate Planning Group. Nancy is proud to be board-certified by the Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA) as a specialist in the area of Estate Planning, Probate, and Trust Law, which means that she is one of a select group of attorneys in Ohio who have met the stringent criteria required to earn the recognition as a OSBA Board Certified Specialist.
Nancy's interest in the fields of estate planning and probate law grew out of her experience of being widowed at the age of 27 when her daughter was two years old. Being widowed at such a young age made Nancy realize that one can never be too young to prepare for death. Nancy has since remarried to Bob Roberson, and her daughter shares her passion while working with her in the firm. Nancy serves on several non-profit boards and cofounded and co facilitates the Young Widows' Support Group. In addition, Nancy is actively involved with her church and her family's common interest of basketball. Nancy has presented the "Are You Prepared?" seminar for years and coauthored the estate planning workbook, Solutions, in 1994 with Pam Walker. Nancy is also a contributing editor for Living With Loss magazine. Her column is titled, "You Don't Know What You Don't Know.” |

Colonel Amanda Gladney - Panelist
Colonel, US Air Force, Wright Patterson Air Force Base
Colonel Amanda W. Gladney is the 88th Air Base Wing and Installation Commander, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. She commands one of the largest air base wings in the Air Force with more than 5,000 Air Force military, civilian, and contractor employees. The wing provides support and services to one of the largest, most diverse, and most organizationally complex bases in the Air Force including a major acquisition center, research and development laboratories, a major command headquarters, an airlift wing, and the world's largest military air museum. The base is home to more than 27,000 employees and is the largest single site employer in the state of Ohio.
Colonel Gladney is a 1988 graduate of the U. S. Air Force Academy. She served as an intelligence systems staff officer for the Air Force Intelligence Agency at Fort. Belvoir, Va., and as a wing executive officer for the 43rd Airlift Wing at Pope AFB, N.C. Her command experience includes leading the 314th Communications Squadron at Little Rock AFB, Ark., the 5th Combat Communications Group at Robins AFB, Ga., and the 48th Mission Support Group at RAF Lakenheath, U.K. As DCIO, she is responsible for assisting the Joint Staff Chief Information Officer in programming, planning, engineering and executing Information Technology Enterprise Architecture.

Karen Dempsey Volke - Panelist

Karen Dempsey Volke is the Director of Development, Media & Community Relations for the YWCA Dayton. Karen has over 25 years of non-profit management experience. Prior to joining the YWCA in 2007, she served as Senior Development Officer at Kettering Medical Center Foundation. She has also worked in marketing, public and community relations, and development at Dayton Children’s and United Rehabilitation Services.
Karen is the immediate Past President of the Greater Dayton Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and has served on the boards of the Bowling Green State University Alumni Association, YWCA Dayton, Dayton Ballet, Womanline, and the Child Care Clearinghouse. She currently volunteers with The Little Exchange, Kettering Medical Center Foundation’s Ribbon of Hope Committee, the Junior League of Dayton, Clothes That Work, Dayton Visual Arts Center, and Leadership Dayton.
